Match My Makeup is a community for discovering, creating, organising and sharing makeup inspiration.
We want MMM to be a positive, inclusive and useful place where people can discover new looks, share their creativity, find products that work for them and connect through a shared interest in beauty.
These Community Guidelines apply to content you upload, publish, share, link to or otherwise make available through the Match My Makeup App ("MMM").
They form part of our Terms of Use.
Beauty is personal and everyone should feel welcome to participate.
Do not post or engage in:
Constructive discussion about makeup and beauty is welcome. Personal attacks are not.
You may upload your own makeup looks, photographs, videos and other content to MMM.
If you upload content directly to MMM, you must own that content or have the necessary permission to use and share it.
Do not upload another person's photograph, video or creative work and present it as your own.
If another identifiable person appears in content you upload, you must have any permission reasonably required to share that content.
MMM matches products to real makeup on real skin. A filtered, edited or AI-generated image can show colours, finishes and skin that do not exist in real life, which means product and shade matches based on it will not be accurate. To keep matches reliable and our community trustworthy, looks you upload or share must show genuine makeup applied to a real person.
Do not upload, publish or share a look that has been wholly or partly created, generated or materially altered using artificial intelligence or similar technology. This includes:
Basic edits that do not change how the makeup or skin appears, such as cropping, rotating or straightening an image, are permitted. Minor adjustments to overall brightness or exposure to correct for lighting are also permitted, provided they do not change the apparent colour of the makeup or skin.
Do not save or share third-party content that you know, or reasonably suspect, has been generated or materially altered using artificial intelligence.
We may use automated tools and human review to identify AI-generated or AI-altered content. We may remove, label or limit the visibility of that content, and repeated breaches may result in action against your account under section 14.
MMM may allow you to save and share links to publicly available beauty content from platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube.
When sharing third-party content:
Where MMM displays a thumbnail, creator handle and source platform, these are provided to help identify and link users back to the original content.
The beauty products listed as detected in a look are identified automatically by MMM’s technology and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Products shown under “My Matches” are MMM’s suggestions from our product database. Neither list is confirmed by the creator, and neither necessarily shows the products the creator actually used.
The original creator does not necessarily endorse or have any affiliation with Match My Makeup.
Do not use MMM to infringe another person's:
Giving someone credit does not necessarily give you permission to copy their work.
Where possible, use MMM's linking functionality to reference third-party social content rather than downloading and re-uploading it.
If you believe your intellectual property is being infringed on MMM, you can report the content to us.
Do not share another person's private or personal information without permission.
This includes information such as:
Do not upload private photographs or videos of another person without appropriate permission.
MMM is a beauty-focused community.
Do not post, share or link to content containing:
Sexual exploitation or abuse of children is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities.
MMM is designed for beauty inspiration and cosmetic product discovery.
You may discuss your own beauty experiences and skin concerns, but do not use MMM to provide misleading medical diagnoses or make unsupported claims about products treating or curing medical conditions.
MMM's Beauty Profile, Face Scan, skin analysis, shade matching and product recommendations are provided for cosmetic and beauty purposes and are not medical or dermatological advice.
If you have concerns about a medical or skin condition, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
When sharing a look, please be accurate about the products you used where you identify them.
Do not deliberately:
Where MMM suggests products that are similar to those appearing in a look, these may be MMM recommendations rather than products actually used by the original creator.
If you upload a look from your device and list the products you used, please make sure that list is accurate.
Creators, brands and other users must be transparent about commercial relationships where required by law.
If you receive payment, free products, commissions or another benefit for promoting a product, you are responsible for making any disclosure required by applicable advertising or consumer laws, such as the Australian Consumer Law, UK consumer protection law and the CAP Code, and the US Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides.
If you display an affiliate code, discount code or referral link on your public profile, it must be genuinely yours, it must be current, and you must clearly disclose that you may benefit when someone uses it.
Do not use MMM for:
MMM may separately identify sponsored or promoted content and affiliate relationships where applicable.
Do not artificially manipulate engagement or Discovery.
This includes:
Do not impersonate another person, creator, brand or organisation.
You may use a username or creator name, but you must not intentionally mislead other users about who you are or your relationship with another person or organisation.
If you see something that you believe breaches these Guidelines, please report it using the reporting functionality available within MMM.
You may also contact us at:

You can report content for reasons including:
If you are the creator or rights holder of content from Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube or another third-party platform that has been referenced on MMM and would like the link or preview removed, you may also submit a removal request.
We may review reported content and take action where we reasonably believe it breaches these Guidelines, our Terms of Use or applicable law.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
The action we take will depend on factors including the nature and seriousness of the breach, whether it is repeated and the potential harm to other users.
Particularly serious content may be removed immediately.
We use a combination of automated tools and human review to help identify content that may breach these Guidelines. Decisions to suspend or terminate an account are reviewed by a person before they are made.
We do not permit MMM to be used for illegal activity.
Where we become aware of content that may be unlawful, we may remove or restrict access to it and, where required or appropriate, preserve relevant information or report the matter to law enforcement, regulatory authorities or other appropriate organisations, such as the eSafety Commissioner in Australia, Ofcom or the Internet Watch Foundation in the United Kingdom, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the United States.
If we remove or restrict your content or account, we may notify you of the reason where appropriate and legally permitted.
Where required by applicable law, you may have the right to request a review of our decision.
You can ask us to review a decision to remove or restrict your content or account by replying to the notice you receive or by contacting appsupport@matchmymakeup.com within 30 days of the decision. Where practicable, the review will be carried out by a different member of our team from the person who made the original decision, and we will tell you the outcome.
We want creators to retain appropriate control over how their work is referenced through MMM.
If your publicly available content from another platform appears in MMM Discovery and you do not want it referenced there, you can request its removal.
Once we have reasonably verified the request, we will take appropriate steps to remove the MMM listing, link, preview and any thumbnail we have stored.
Users who saved the look to a Lookbook will see a notice that it has been removed by its creator.
Removing a reference from MMM does not remove the original content from Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube or another third-party platform.
We may update these Community Guidelines as MMM and our community evolve.
If we make material changes, we will provide notice where appropriate.
Continued use of MMM is subject to the current Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.
