Retinoic Acid Peels

During the winter months, skin appears more dull and lackluster. Perhaps its because we’re not drinking enough water, not getting enough sunlight, the heater is drying us out or all of the above. Enter our savior, the Retinoic Acid Peel. It comes in strengths of 0.5%, 1% and if you’re daring enough, 1.5%.

We’ve had a lot of peels done to our faces over the years, but this one is a true godsend. There’s no pain, no itching and no redness when it goes on. The doctor applies it onto our clean skin and out we go! In fact, it makes our skin look even better for the first day or two… then comes the peeling.

Once the peeling begins, its painless but we all felt too self-conscious going out in public. It looked like a severe sunburn for those of us in the office that did the 1% or 1.5%. Skin literally fell off our face similar to that of a cicada shedding its shell. It felt a tight and itchy and some of us were a little pink and splotchy. Best to plan ahead and make sure you don’t have any social commitments for a week when you get this done.

After 3 days of severe peeling and 2 days of slight peeling, we were finally able to see the fruits of our labor. Our new skin looked dewy and refined. We received compliments about our ‘glow’ and how fresh we looked. We somehow managed to forget the horrible 5 days that passed and vowed to make this peel a part of our beauty routine!

Please note, we went to a qualified Doctor’s clinic to get this done.
